Coming to this a bit late but it maps perfectly onto what I've been seeing with developer frameworks. Opinionated dev frameworks don't just reduce user-facing decisions; they reduce the decisions AI agents have to guess at when generating code. And the question still remains: What percentage of people will start to build their own software on the side to improve their daily life and business operations, and how many will find their "tribe" of software producers who share similar taste.

Nice article! I'd add a timing/adoption element to this too.
The opinionated software listed (except for Basecamp) came after the existing more general platforms and so by being opinionated won market share.
